Lung Health Program

Meet with a Respiratory Therapist to be educated about lung disease, learn about medications & how to prevent attacks. Have your lung function measured through spirometry and be provided with education to optimize quality of life.

The Lung Health Program is staffed by a Registered Respiratory Therapist, Jo Ann Belmore, who has more than 30 years experience working with COPD.  The client will have an initial 90-minute visit which includes testing, evaluation and education as ordered. Recommendations and testing results will be sent to referring Physicians or Nurse Practitioners and follow up appointments will be scheduled as required.

  • Use of spirometry to increase the identification of undiagnosed COPD individuals.
  • Complete Smoking cessation consults.
  • Provide optimal pharmacotherapy education to individuals with COPD.  Aerochamber and correct use of medications are reviewed in-depth.
  • Provide COPD disease process education to reduce acute COPD exacerbations and optimize quality of life. At risk individuals will be educated toward a COPD Action Plan.
